People for swearing
There is still the number of people that do not care what goes on TV and those who want more! These are people with no morals. But they obviously do not care about the young population because they are the ones running the world when we are old. Gordon Ramsy was counted swearing on Hells Kitchen and he swore 5,000 times! They were bleep out mostly but he is a believer of swearing. that group of people just need to grow up and see what this nation is coming to.
Our role
Us as the viewers have roles. We are the ones that truly choose what gets on tv. If noone complains on anything then there would be unlimited swearing. The FCC is the enforcer of the rules, we are the ones who make them. We as viewers just need to complain more and tell the FCC what we do not like and what we think should be banned and they will put out the rules and if the shows do not change the TV shows will be paying the big bucks and they will change what they put on the air.
"Breakin the Law"
When tv takes it to far this is what happens. If enough people complain to the FCC and then the FCC has come to the conclusion that the shows obsenity has become a nusence then the show has to pay a fine. The fines can vary from $10,000 to $4,000,000. sometimes if the crime is not to bad the producers know that they will pay but it is so miniscule that they could care less. Except when you get toward paying the big bucks. The most recent "big buck" fine went to the december 31 showing of Without a Trace in which case they had to pay $3,607,500. This is only because the viewers complained. Without people complaining it would be chaos on tv.
Rules of swearing
Under section 6(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990, independent broadcasters must not include anything in their programmes which offend against “good taste and decency”. I think that this is bad. Therre is no concrete line that shows how close or far you can go. Many times programs blow this out of proportion and as more and more shows push the barrier the people get "immune" to hearing swearing and the moral bar is lowered and more swaering is allowed. It is a violation of federal law to air obscene programming at any time. It is also a violation of federal law to air indecent programming or profane language during certain hours. The FCC has defined broadcast indecency as “language or material that, in context, depicts or describes, in terms patently offensive as measured by contemporary community standards for the broadcast medium, sexual or excretory organs or activities.” Indecent programming contains patently offensive sexual or excretory material that does not rise to the level of obscenity. Those laws are laws that ounce again have no solid boundry and the borders can be crossed of desency and the bar is pushed lower.
tv morals slipping away
The tv morals are slipping away. Each year the televisors let more and more swearing and nudity telivise on tv. Ounce again this goes back to children. If kids that are eleven or twelve watch tv they have access to all the channels. When I watch most tv they probly swear about 10 per episode. If kids look up to these telvision shows it teaches them that they are allowed to swear. there are some rules on swearing for television but they get stretched to far. Befrore 9 pm swearing is strict on most shows and no swearing is permitted on children's shows except for exception reasons. I find that very stupid because children should not before hearing swearing at all. Sometimes it is not the language that is bad it is the way they act which is important also. There are no rules for how you act to parents on television which is to bad because children are getting brainwashed to act that way and they think it is "ok" to act like that because in the show it turned out fine in the end but in real life it raily turns out fine and along the way someone's feelings are gonna get hurt.
tv morals
Television morals have gone down drastically. The morals that are on television now are morals that people shouls not live by. If we did live by them our society would probably be in peril. Back when I was a child I would watch good wholesome shows like the Andy Griffith Show, I love lucy, Sesame Street, and Mr. Roggers. These shows all show good morals. In the andy griffith show they would either have a villan or just some type of problem. They would not promote the villan or problem but they would find the right way to fix the problem or get rid of the villan. If there were young teenagers on the show they would not talk back to there parents; they would do what they were told without question. Now days the tv shows with teenagers are awful. Just about in every show I watch the teenager is stuck up and talks back to his elders. I want to go slap the kid through the television because if I talked to my parents like that I would not be a happy camper. I think that the reason that kids are becoming more and more disrespectful to there parents is because of these television shows. Kids look up to the people on them and they think it is ok to do what they do but in rality it is not.
